Alexana Gran Rouge GSM 2016 - Lonesome Spring Ranch

$75.00

An Oregon Pinot house road-tripping to Washington. Alexana, the Dundee Hills winery founded by cardiologist Dr. Madaiah Revana, sources this Rhône-style blend of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre from Lonesome Spring Ranch in the Yakima Valley near Benton City, a warm site planted in 1996 and farmed by grower Colin Morrell. Limited production, single vineyard, built on juicy red fruit and spice. A Châteauneuf alternative from the Northwest that you will not find on every shelf.

Juicy red berries, fresh fig, licorice and cocoa, with a savory soy edge from bottle age. Silky tannins, medium-full body, long finish.

Pulled pork, Moroccan lamb tagine, roasted bell peppers or a cauliflower steak off the grill.

Lonesome Spring Ranch slopes southeast at about 900 feet above the Yakima River near Benton City, planted in 1996 on uniform silt loam and farmed by Colin Morrell. Alexana itself is an 80-acre Dundee Hills estate better known for Pinot Noir.
