St. Supéry Estate Vineyards & Winery farms Rutherford ground alongside its 202-hectare Dollarhide Estate in Napa's northeastern hills, and blends both into this 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon: 83% Cabernet Sauvignon with Merlot, Malbec and Petit Verdot rounding it out. It is an estate-grown, estate-bottled Napa Cabernet for someone who wants real Rutherford dirt in the glass without a cult-wine price tag. Open it for a steak dinner tonight or let it ride in the cellar a few more years.

Black plum, dried fig, black pepper and roasted coffee on the nose, with anise threading through. The palate turns richly textured: ripe blueberry, dark cherry, baking spice and caramel, framed by round tannins into a long finish.

Pour with a peppercorn-crusted ribeye or aged cheddar. The coffee and fig notes want the char and the fat.
