Alexana Pinot Gris Hillsides - 2023

Alexana is Houston cardiologist Dr. Madaiah Revana's Oregon estate in the Dundee Hills, one of the most geologically diverse vineyard sites in the state with 18 distinct soil types. Hillsides Pinot Gris comes from the estate's original plantings on a southwest-facing slope, double hand-sorted, whole-cluster pressed, fermented fully dry, then left on the lees with stirring every two weeks for texture. This is the serious version of a grape too often made simple. Aromatic, plush, mineral, bone dry.

Nutmeg, poached pear, starfruit and nectarine aromas. Plush palate of kiwi, cantaloupe, baked apple and wet stone, bright acidity, mineral dry finish.

Thai green curry, seared scallops, roast turkey, soft-rind cheeses.

The Revana family estate sits on Worden Hill Road outside Newberg, straddling volcanic and ancient marine sedimentary soils. Bryan Weil has made the wines since 2012, farming LIVE certified.
