Andis Wines runs one of the Sierra Foothills' most modern cellars in Amador County's Shenandoah Valley, and this is their freshest wine. The 2022 is 94% Sauvignon Blanc from five vineyards including the Andis estate, plus 4% Sémillon and a 2% splash of Arinto, Portugal's zippy coastal white. Cold fermented, raised three months almost entirely in steel, bone dry at 13.5%. California Sauvignon with real snap and no oak makeup. Built for fish-taco night.

Lemon zest and Meyer lemon aromas with cut grass and white blossoms. Grapefruit, green apple, white nectarine and a hint of guava on the palate. Bright acidity, bone dry, clean finish.

Fish tacos, ceviche, grilled artichokes with aioli, goat cheese anything.

Fruit comes from Andis Estate, Rancho Victoria, Salman Farms, Oleta and Codevilla vineyards, with Sémillon from Bill Dillian Vineyard. Harvest ran August 9 to 26. Aged 94% in steel tank and 6% neutral barrel for three months. The numbers: 0.1 g/L residual sugar, 5.6 g/L acidity, 3.27 pH.
