Broccardo Langhet Arneis 2023

That word on the label is not a typo. Langhèt is the name Broccardo, a family winery in Piedmont, gives its Langhe DOC Arneis. Arneis is the Langhe's native white grape, the one locals pour while the Nebbiolo sleeps. This one is all stainless steel, pressed softly and fermented cold at 10 degrees, then rested three months in bottle so the grape does all the talking. Crisp, floral, quietly serious. Your new house white for antipasti season.

Pale straw with a glint of old gold. Peach blossom, acacia, hawthorn, fresh pear, chamomile, a light almond note. Creamy mid-palate, fresh and savory, medium body, soft floral finish.

Delicate antipasti, vitello tonnato, raw or marinated fish, roast chicken with lemon.

100 percent Arneis under the Langhe DOC, bottled by Broccardo of Piedmont under the local name Langhèt. Soft pressing, temperature-controlled fermentation at 10 degrees Celsius, maturation in stainless steel, and a minimum three months in bottle before release.
