Anthony Girard grew up at his family's domaine in Sancerre, then left in 2012 to build his own project, Domaine la Clef du Recit, the key to the story. His Quincy is 100% Sauvignon Blanc off sandy soils along the Cher River, about 45 minutes west of Sancerre. Same grape, a fraction of the fame, and none of the Sancerre markup. White flowers, peach, and a mineral snap. This is what Loire insiders drink when nobody is watching.

Girard comes from a Sancerre winegrowing family and struck out on his own in 2012. The Quincy vines grow in the sandy, gravelly soils deposited by the Cher River.
