Petit Siós Blanc comes from Costers del Sió, a winery outside Balaguer in Lleida, deep in Catalonia's inland DO Costers del Segre. The blend is an aromatic trio of Viognier, Chardonnay, and Muscat Petit Grain, grown organically at 310 meters on stony silt-loam and fermented cold in small stainless steel vats. It is a fresh, floral, unoaked white with real texture. Drink it young and cold. At this price it outruns a lot of tired Albariño.

Pale yellow with green glints. Intense nose of fresh grapes, exotic fruit, and white flowers. Smooth, fresh palate with balanced acidity and a gently textured finish.

Smoked trout, vichyssoise, garlicky shrimp, oily fish of any stripe, roast chicken.

Organically farmed trellis vineyards at 310 meters on stony silt-loam soil. Grapes are hand picked from August to late September, cold stored 24 to 48 hours, then fermented at 16 to 18 degrees Celsius in small stainless vats for around 20 days.
