The white from the Wrattonbully sisters, Jane Richards and Claire Davies, whose Lanacoona Estate on South Australia's Limestone Coast also gives us their Shiraz, with ex-Wynns winemaker Peter Douglas in charge. The 2022 Chardonnay is sustainably farmed estate fruit worked on its lees for texture while keeping the region's cool-night acidity front and center. Stone fruit and citrus, a chalky mineral line, no oak sledgehammer. Modern Australian Chardonnay, nothing like the buttery ones your aunt swore off.

Pale straw. Rockmelon, nectarine, peach, and lemon peel with a hint of nougat. Juicy, rounded mouthfeel, chalky minerality, fine fresh acidity, medium finish.
