Girlan Indra Sauvignon Blanc 2023 750ml

Indra is Cantina Girlan's Sauvignon Blanc from hillside vineyards at 400 to 500 meters in Alto Adige, Italy's alpine north. The soils are mineral-rich ice-age sediment, the fruit is hand-picked into small bins, whole-cluster pressed, fermented in steel and left six months on the lees with no malolactic. The result is Sauvignon with alpine nerve instead of tropical bombast, 13.5% and dead precise. If New Zealand Sauvignon shouts, this one speaks clearly and actually says something.

Nettle and elderberry, bright citrus, a fine mineral core. Fresh and lively in the mouth, flavorsome and stony, with excellent structure and a persistent finish.

White-fleshed fish, asparagus in season, spring vegetables, herbed goat cheese.

Grown on Girlan's well-aired hillside sites between 400 and 500 meters, on mineral-rich soils from ice-age sedimentation. Gentle whole-cluster pressing, natural settling of the must, steel fermentation, six months on the lees without malolactic.
