Napa Sauvignon Blanc with the volume turned up, from the label Jayson Pahlmeyer built for earlier-drinking wines. The 2023 was whole-cluster pressed, then fermented and aged sur lie in neutral French oak, so you get texture without a plank of wood. Racy grapefruit and lime riding a rich mid-palate. Wine Spectator gave it 90 points. This is the bottle for people who think they have outgrown Sauvignon Blanc.

Lemongrass, orange blossom, pink grapefruit and Key lime on the nose. Layered palate, sur lie richness against brisk acidity, hints of white pepper and crushed rock. Long, mouthwatering finish of candied grapefruit peel.

Classic matches for Sauvignon Blanc: Goat cheese, oysters, green salads, anything with fresh herbs.

Jayson began as Pahlmeyer's second label and now stands as its own Napa Valley range. The Sauvignon Blanc is hand-sorted, whole-cluster pressed and raised entirely in neutral French oak to keep fruit and acidity front and center.
