Mettler Family Vineyards has been farming Lodi ground since the late 1800s, eight generations deep, going back to Carl Mettler's first plantings in 1899. The family runs Arbor Vineyards today, working roughly 800 acres with a real commitment to organic and sustainable practices. Their Albariño leans soft rather than searing, more golden apple than green, a Lodi answer to Spain's coastal white built for backyard dinners, not fine-dining pretense. Good with tapas, good with cheese, good on a hot night.

Citrus, peach and fresh-baked dough on the nose. Golden apple, lemon pith and melon on the palate, with a fairly viscous texture, a medium finish, and a pleasant bitterness that offsets the stone fruit.

Tapas and a cheese board, the wine's velvety, lightly grippy texture is built for exactly that.
