Miguel Torres Cordillera Chardonnay 2023 750ml

Miguel Torres Chile put Curico on the fine-wine map after the Spanish winemaking family arrived in 1979, and Cordillera is their showcase for Chile's single-vineyard character. This Chardonnay comes from the Talinay vineyard in the Limari Valley, a limestone-and-clay site close enough to the Andes to pull in cold nights under near-constant sun. The 2023 picked up 92 points from Robert Parker's Wine Advocate. It's a Chardonnay for people who think they don't like Chardonnay: real minerality, real restraint, no butter bomb.

Peach, white plum and grapefruit on the nose with a touch of toasted hazelnut. Mineral, textured palate with real volume and lively acidity, finishing fresh with lingering orchard fruit.

Classic matches for Chardonnay: Roast chicken, lobster or crab with butter, corn dishes, soft creamy cheeses.

Talinay vineyard sits in the Limari Valley on limestone and clay soils, one of the coolest sites in the Cordillera portfolio thanks to proximity to the Andes and coastal fog. About half the wine sees French oak, a small portion new, for texture without heaviness.
