Mokoroa is the lone white wine from Judith Fowler, who moved to New Zealand after a business career and built Puriri Hills, a small Auckland-area estate better known for Bordeaux-style reds. Her Sauvignon Blanc comes from Marlborough and shows the friendly, sunny side of the style: a big burst of tropical fruit and cut grass up front, round and mellow underneath instead of screechy. One of the better Kiwi Savvies under twenty-five dollars.

A burst of wild tropical fruit, pink citrus, and fresh-cut grass. Round and mellow on the palate, lime, lemon, and green herb flavors, finishing with a juicy pop.
