Julio Palmaz wanted to make nothing but Cabernet. His wife Amalia talked him out of it, insisting that once in a while a little white can be delightful, so he dedicated one tunnel of the estate cave to Chardonnay fermentation and put her name on the label. The 2020 Amalia Chardonnay carries tangerine and peach into tart lemon curd with a touch of sandalwood and incense. Cool Coombsville fruit, honest balance. A Napa Chardonnay with an actual love story behind it.
