Paris-Simoneasu Les Georges Sauvignon Blanc 2024 750ml
$24.00
Paris-Simoneau is a true family domaine in the Touraine, minutes from Chateau de Chenonceau, where Sébastien Paris and Carine Simoneau farm about 72 hectares of Sauvignon Blanc, Gamay, Cabernet Franc and Chenin. Les Georges is their Sauvignon, bottled as IGP Val de Loire, and the Guide Hachette starred a recent vintage. This is your move when Sancerre prices sting. Same river, same grape, half the money. Chill it hard for the raw bar or a porch afternoon.
Citrus and white orchard fruit with an unexpected brioche note. Round and gently plush through the middle, then the finish snaps back bright and fresh. Harmonious, charming, dangerously easy to pour again.
Warm goat cheese salad, oysters on the half shell, asparagus quiche, herby spring vegetables.
The history runs deep: André Foissier took charge of 18 hectares of vines at age 14 when his father was called to the front in World War II. Son-in-law Antoine Simoneau took over in 1977, and the family pivoted to direct retail in 1991. Sébastien Paris and Carine Simoneau run it today.
