Saint Clair Estate Sauvignon Blanc
$26.99
Saint Clair is one of Marlborough's founding family wineries, started in 1994 by viticulturists Neal and Judy Ibbotson. This bottling comes from Dillons Point, the low-lying, ocean-facing sub-region Neal singled out early as some of the best Sauvignon Blanc ground in Marlborough. The cool sea breeze and saline soils there give the fruit its signature passionfruit-driven character. It's the everyday expression from a producer whose Wairau Reserve tier helped put Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc on the world map. A reliable house pour for classic Kiwi Sauvignon Blanc done right.
Pale straw color with passionfruit aromatics. Flavors of white peach, grapefruit, lime and pineapple lead to a crisp, tangy finish with lingering, salty minerality.
Classic matches for Sauvignon Blanc: Goat cheese, oysters, green salads, anything with fresh herbs.
Saint Clair was founded in 1994 by Neal and Judy Ibbotson and now farms 160 hectares sustainably across Marlborough. Dillons Point sits near the Pacific coast, where cool sea breezes slow ripening and low, saline soils give the fruit its distinct passionfruit and mineral character.
