Santa Margherita invented modern Pinot Grigio. In 1961 the Marzotto family winery, founded in 1935, vinified the pink-skinned grape as a clean white wine and the category never looked back. The 2024 comes from Alto Adige vineyards in the Adige River Valley, high in the Italian Alps. Bone dry at 12.5%, all Golden Delicious apple and citrus with alpine freshness. It is the bottle guests recognize on sight, and it still does the job.
Straw yellow. Intense aromas of Golden Delicious apple, citrus, and white flowers. Crisp, bone dry, a hint of minerality, with a long, layered, refreshing finish.
Seafood salad, shellfish risotto, grilled fish, or the aperitivo hour on its own.
