Seven Napa wine industry friends from a tasting group led by winemaker Dan Petroski formed Band of Vintners in 2014 with one goal: a single Napa Cabernet with real value. They pooled fruit sources, called in favors, and Consortium is the result. The 2018 pours medium ruby and leads with blackcurrant, boysenberry, and dark cherry, framed by a light touch of French oak. Supple tannins, elegant finish, drinking beautifully now. Insider Napa Cab at a civilian price.

Medium ruby-purple. Floral nose of blackcurrant bud, violet, cedar, bitter chocolate. Succulent black currant, boysenberry, and dark cherry, graphite and coffee accents, supple steak-friendly tannins, lingering spiced finish.

Ribeye off the grill, burgers with aged cheddar, rosemary lamb chops.

Formed in 2014 by seven friends from a Napa tasting group led by Dan Petroski, pooling insider fruit access and winemaking talent into one bottling. A measured touch of French oak adds spice and texture.
