Booker is one of Paso Robles' most sought-after Rhône producers, built on its own estate vineyard, and Oublié, French for 'forgotten,' is the Grenache showpiece. The 2017 is 56% Grenache with equal shares of Syrah and Mourvèdre, aged in 35% new French oak. Critics fell hard: 96 points from Jeb Dunnuck, 95 from Vinous, 92 from Wine Advocate. It sits squarely in its drinking window right now. Grenache with actual gravitas.
Black cherry, dried red currant, cured meat, underbrush and graphite. Medium to full-bodied with firm, grainy tannins, surprising freshness, and a long, dense finish.
