Broccardo is a Barolo house first, the Broccardo siblings, Filippo, Laura, and Federica, farm 13 hectares across three of Monforte d'Alba's best crus. Birichin is their everyday red, a blend of Nebbiolo and Barbera off 25-year-old vines, made to drink now rather than wait for. James Suckling scored the 2023 a 91. Proof that a serious Barolo producer's house wine can still overdeliver.

Ruby red with purple highlights. Lively and fruity with floral notes and white pepper, medium body, good balance, and real persistence on the finish.

The winery pairs it with cured salami, mushroom risotto, or aged Toma cheese.

Grown in Monforte d'Alba on clay, sand, and loam at 350 meters, south/southwest facing. Destemmed and fermented at 28°C with about 15 days of maceration in steel, then aged roughly 7 months in barriques before bottling at 14% ABV.
