Château de Saint Cosme is one of the Rhône's great houses, and Côte-Rôtie is its most rarefied address. This is 100% Sérine, the ancient local strain of Syrah, whole-cluster fermented on native yeasts, aged 12 months in 30% new oak, and bottled unfined and unfiltered. Northern Rhône Syrah for people who want the real thing: savage, perfumed, and built for the cellar as much as the table.
Black raspberry, peppery herbs, smoked meat and olive, with that classic graphite-and-rose Côte-Rôtie perfume. Elegant now; even better with seven-plus years down.
