Chispas means sparks. In Spain the word gets used for chemistry between people, which tells you what this brand is going for. The wine is eighty-five percent Garnacha and fifteen percent Syrah from DO Campo de Borja in Aragon, a cooler, northerly zone that keeps Garnacha fresh instead of jammy. Long Wines built the range and has it made at one bodega. Fourteen percent, deep, juicy, and built for a grill.

Deep ruby with blue highlights. Red and black cherry on the nose with a floral hint. Black fruit fills the palate, acidity keeps it fresh, tannins give it shape, spice on the finish.

Campo de Borja sits southeast of Navarra in Aragon, known for juicy Garnacha. The northerly, cooler location means the wines hold their freshness in bottle longer than most. The whole Chispas range, red, rosado and blanco, comes from the same bodega.
