Michel Rolland consults for half the wine world, but Clos de los Siete is the project he part-owns: a single 850-hectare vineyard at Vista Flores in Mendoza's Uco Valley, planted at 1,000 to 1,200 meters against the Andes. The blend shifts with the vintage but always leads with Malbec, over half, backed by Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Petit Verdot. This is the magnum. One bottle, a whole table, zero refill anxiety.

Blackberry, black plum, violets and wild herbs with a mineral edge. Full-bodied, ripe silky tannins, juicy freshness, and a sleek, polished finish.

Skirt steak with chimichurri, beef empanadas, or go all in on a full asado spread.

One contiguous estate at Vista Flores, Tunuyán, at the foot of the Andes. Each partner winery farms its parcel and vinifies its share; Rolland directs the final blend every year.
