Dry Creek - Chenin Blanc - 2021

Dry Creek Vineyard was founded in 1972 by David Stare, who saw the cool Clarksburg AVA as Sonoma's answer to the Loire Valley and set out to make Chenin Blanc in that style. This bottling has come from the same grower, the Wilson family's Wilson Ranch, since the late 1970s, more than 40 years of the same partnership. The Dry Chenin Blanc line runs 54 consecutive vintages, a streak no other American winery can match, and the 2021 took Double Gold, Best of Show White Wine at the Sunset International Wine Competition.

Honeydew, watermelon and mango up front with jasmine and orange blossom. Peach, Meyer lemon and cucumber on the palate, with hints of geranium, white tea and white pepper. Soft, voluptuous texture, bright and crisp.

Fruit comes from Wilson Ranch in the Clarksburg AVA, Dry Creek Vineyard's grower partner there since the late 1970s. It's fermented entirely in stainless steel to keep the aromatics and acidity intact, no oak involved.
