Dumol Wester Reach - Chardonnay - 2021

DuMOL is one of Russian River Valley's benchmark Chardonnay producers, and Wester Reach is a vineyard-designate bottling built for real complexity. Fermented with wild yeast and aged in French oak, it layers green apple and stone fruit with acacia, chalk and a flinty mineral edge. This is Chardonnay for people who think the variety got boring — bright, textured, and structured enough to argue with steak as easily as it does scallops.

Green apple, white peach and Meyer lemon aromas with acacia, chalk and white pepper. The palate is light-to-medium bodied, creamy yet tangy, with hazelnut praline and a long flinty finish.

Pan-seared scallops with brown butter, or a simple roast chicken with lemon and thyme.

Wester Reach draws from cool Russian River Valley sites DuMOL has farmed for years, picked early to hold onto acidity. Winemaking leans on wild-yeast fermentation and extended lees aging to build texture without piling on new oak.
