GlassMen is the label of Advanced Sommelier Brian Kulich, who ran beverage programs at Michelin-starred rooms like Meadowood before launching his own project in 2021. Veteran winemaker William Knuttel, who helped put Saintsbury Pinot on the map in the 1980s, makes the wines. The 2023 Sonoma County Pinot Noir is the calling card: classic California Pinot, clean and crowd-pleasing, built by a restaurant pro who wanted honest wine at an honest price.
Black cherry and ripe strawberry with a briny black-olive note, turned earth, and a whisper of smoke. Soft vanilla oak, cinnamon spice, a savory tomato-leaf edge, lively finish.
Seared duck breast, mushroom risotto, or salmon off the grill. Sunday roast chicken is its happy place.
Founded in Napa in 2021 by sommelier Brian Kulich with winemaker William Knuttel, whose resume runs through Saintsbury, Chalk Hill, and Dry Creek Vineyard. The house focuses on approachable, fairly priced Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
