Hugel - Amours - Pinot Blanc - 2020

Hugel is one of Alsace's oldest and most respected family houses, and Cuvée Les Amours is its most approachable wine, consistent year after year. This 2020 Pinot Blanc comes off Lias clay-marl soils, pressed gently, then given a long, slow, temperature-controlled fermentation before natural clarification over the winter. The result is bright, food-friendly Alsace white built for everyday tables, not special-occasion budgets.

A subtle, racy nose opens to delicate florals. Fresh green apple and yellow plum lead the palate, with a touch of hay and a lingering, salivating finish. Crisp acidity throughout.

Classic matches for a white like this: Seafood, poultry, salads, fresh and soft cheeses.

Grown on Lias clay-marl soils in Alsace. Grapes are gently pressed, the must decanted, then fermented slowly in temperature-controlled barrels or vats between 64 and 72°F, with one racking before natural clarification over winter.
