I Greppi Greppicante Bolgheri Rosso 2023

Greppicante is I Greppi's Bolgheri Rosso, from the Tuscan coast appellation that Sassicaia put on the map. The 2023 is 50% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, aged a year in barrel and six months in bottle before release. James Suckling gave it 93 points. Baby Super Tuscan gets thrown around too easily, but this is the genuine article: coastal Bordeaux varieties, dark fruit, Mediterranean herbs, and a price that lets you actually drink it.

Currants, blackberries, rosemary and flowers on the nose. Full-bodied with rich dark fruit, meat and leather undertones, firm succulent tannins, long and flavorful on the finish.

Bistecca, lamb ragu, grilled portobellos, aged pecorino.

Estate fruit from I Greppi in Bolgheri DOC on the Tuscan coast. The wine spends one year in barrel and six months in bottle before release. Brought in through Ethica Wines.
