Jonata is Stan Kroenke's Ballard Canyon estate, sister property to Screaming Eagle, where soil-scientist-turned-winemaker Matt Dees has worked the sandy, limestone-streaked ground since 2004. Todos is the wine that gathers the whole estate into one glass: the 2020 is 57% Syrah with 24% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Petite Sirah and 6% Cabernet Franc, aged in just 18% new French oak. Jeb Dunnuck rated it 93-95. This is the affordable ticket into one of California's most ambitious properties.

Ripe blueberry, fresh plum, dark cherry and chocolate with black pepper, licorice and new leather. Full-bodied and plush, rounded tannins, a savory scorched-earth undertone, and a long generous finish.

The 586-acre Jonata estate in Ballard Canyon was purchased in 2000 and planted to roughly 84 acres of Bordeaux and Rhône varieties on distinctive sandy and limestone soils. Matt Dees, a University of Vermont soil science grad with stints at Staglin and Craggy Range, has made every vintage since 2004.
