Joseph Faiveley Bourgogne Pinot Noir (2021)
$54.00
Domaine Faiveley is one of Burgundy's great family houses, and this is its front door: a Bourgogne Rouge blending estate-grown fruit with grapes bought from trusted organic growers, raised 12 to 14 months in a mix of French oak barrels and stainless steel. Nothing showy, everything correct. Textbook red Burgundy at 13% alcohol, bright and silky. The bottle to open when someone claims they don't get Pinot Noir.
Bright ruby. Fresh red cherry and plum with floral and spice notes. Ripe, supple mid-palate, fine round tannins, and a medium-plus savory finish with a touch of earth.
Roast chicken, coq au vin, seared salmon with lentils.
