Koha is the accessible everyday label from te Pā Family Vineyards, one of the only Māori-owned wine companies in New Zealand, founded by Haysley MacDonald on family land at the Wairau Bar in Marlborough that his ancestors have held for roughly 800 years. The 2023 Sauvignon Blanc is blended from three te Pā vineyard sites on the gravelly, river-formed soils near Cloudy Bay. Sustainably grown and vegan-friendly, it's a solid pick for anyone who wants real provenance behind a wine at a normal Tuesday-night price.

Floral aromatics with citrus, lemongrass, passionfruit and guava. Lemon zest and passionfruit carry through the palate alongside black currant and aniseed. Crisp, clean finish with a touch of spice and chalky minerality. 13% ABV.

Classic matches for Sauvignon Blanc: Goat cheese, oysters, green salads, anything with fresh herbs.

Produced by te Pā Family Vineyards, founded 2011 by Haysley MacDonald on the family's former dairy and crop farm at the Wairau Bar. Fruit is drawn from three vineyard sites on gravel, loam, silt and sand soils shaped by the Wairau River and Cloudy Bay; a small portion is barrel-fermented.
