Beaune Premier Cru from the house that practically owns the hillside. Les Theurons is four parcels on the slope directly above the city of Beaune, sitting at the dividing line between the lighter northern crus and the fuller southern ones, which is exactly how it drinks: both at once. Jadot ferments up to a month in vat, then matures the wine 12 to 15 months in oak. The 2020 is ripe, dense and structured. Cellar it, or open it tonight next to a slow braise.
Cherries, sweet berries, warm spice and raw cocoa. Medium to full-bodied, layered and fleshy, a rich core of fruit underpinned by powdery tannins that assert themselves on the youthfully chewy finish. Rewards 10 to 15 years of patience.

Jadot considers Theurons one of the finest Premiers Crus in Beaune, an appellation with 36 of them on its sun-facing slopes. Winemaker Frédéric Barnier oversees the house's 50 Côte de Beaune Premier Cru holdings, its deepest footprint in Burgundy.
