Montecchiesi - Vermentino Chardonnay - 2022

A Tuscan white from the Dal Cero family, who've been farming in Italy since 1934 and brought their winemaking south to Cortona, near Lake Trasimeno, in the early 1980s. This bottling blends 60% Vermentino with 40% Chardonnay, an unusual pairing that gives you Vermentino's coastal snap alongside Chardonnay's rounder body. Easy, food-friendly white for whenever you want something a little more interesting than the usual Pinot Grigio without spending more for it.

Straw yellow with gold highlights. Hawthorn blossom and rosemary on the nose, then mandarin orange and a whisper of pencil lead. Balanced and graceful on the palate, finishing with ripe fruit and a mineral edge.

The Dal Cero family has farmed in Italy since 1934, starting near Verona before Dario and Giuseppe Dal Cero expanded into Cortona, Tuscany in the early 1980s to focus on ambitious reds. Tenuta Montecchiesi sits near Lake Trasimeno, its vineyards benefiting from the lake's moderating effect on the Mediterranean climate.
