Nomade is the project of Tomás Achával, an Argentine winemaker who believes every grape has one place it does best and built a portfolio around chasing those spots rather than staking one vineyard. This Torrontés comes from Cafayate in Salta's Calchaqui Valley, a high-altitude desert around 6,000 feet that's the traditional home of the grape. Expect the classic Torrontés paradox: a wine that smells sweet and floral but finishes bone dry. Good by itself on a porch, better with something spicy.

Honeysuckle, orange blossom, rose petal and lavender on the nose, with crisp citrus, tropical fruit and a mineral edge on the palate. Dry, bright and aromatic, not sweet despite the perfume.

Built for the food Cafayate actually eats: empanadas, spicy Thai, or anything with cilantro that usually fights with wine.

Sourced from Cafayate in the Calchaqui Valley of Salta, Argentina's classic high-altitude home for Torrontés, roughly 6,000 feet up in the Andean foothills. Winemaker Tomás Achával matches each of his wines to the region he considers its best expression rather than farming one estate.
