Opus One - Overture Red Blend

Every year a few lots at Opus One are excellent but do not make the final blend. Overture is where they go. Following the tradition of the great Bordeaux estates since 1993, those lots get extra time in barrel, then are blended across multiple vintages for balance, which is why this bottle carries no date. The result drinks softer and rounder than young Opus One: dark fruit, chocolate and spice in a supple frame. Second wine of Napa's first growth, ready the day you buy it.

Plum, blackberry and dark cherry with chocolate and baking spice. Silky and supple, softer and rounder than its famous sibling, with fine tannins and a graceful, persistent finish.

Classic matches for a red like this: Grilled and roasted meats, hearty pastas, aged cheeses.

Made entirely from Opus One estate lots in Oakville. The multi-vintage blending and additional barrel time were designed to deliver elegance and approachability on release, in the mold of a classic Bordeaux second wine.
