Rocca Giovanni - Nebbiolo - 2020

Rocca Giovanni has farmed Monforte d'Alba, deep in Barolo country, for three generations across 22 hectares. Giaculin is their Nebbiolo d'Alba, sourced from a vineyard planted in 1995 on calcareous marl. The 2020 macerates on the skins for 8 to 10 days with a floating cap, then spends 12 months in barrique and another 6 to 7 in bottle before release. It's real Barolo-adjacent Nebbiolo, from a family that could be making Barolo itself, at a fraction of the price.
