Rutherford Cabernet from a real farming family. Bob and Jan MacDonnell started buying Rutherford land in 1983, and their kids Ryan and Miles now run the 468-acre estate, 362 acres of vines plus olive orchards and one of only two olive mills in the region. The 2021 is 94 percent Cabernet Sauvignon with Petit Verdot and Syrah, aged 20 months in 65 percent new French oak. Soft, dusty and drinking well young. Benchmark Rutherford without cult pricing.

Black cherry, wild strawberry, cocoa nib and baking spice, with sage and dusty earth. Medium to full bodied, velvety texture, ripe balanced tannins, long warm finish.
