Santa Carolina - Reserva Chardonnay - 2020
$20.99
Santa Carolina's Reserva Chardonnay comes from the Leyda Valley, the cool, fog-cooled coastal region that's become Chile's benchmark for white wine thanks to the Pacific's influence. The house was founded in 1875 by Luis Pereira and is now owned by the Larrain family, who farm estates from Casablanca to Colchagua. This bottling shows the classic coastal Chilean Chardonnay profile: ripe stone fruit balanced by real acid from the cold nights. A solid everyday white for roast chicken or pork chops.
Pale amber color. Toasted pear and citrus on the nose. Smooth texture, balanced acidity, flavors of lemon, mandarin orange and crème brûlée carrying through the finish.
Chicken in cream sauce, roast pork chops, other rich, creamy weeknight dishes.
Leyda Valley is a cool, coastal, fog-influenced sub-region within Chile's San Antonio Valley, and it's become known for producing some of the country's best white wine because ocean proximity stretches out ripening and holds onto acidity.
