Santa Julia is Familia Zuccardi's tribute to Jose Zuccardi's daughter Julia, and the Reserva Mountain Blend is the label's showcase for what Uco Valley can do at altitude: vines planted almost 3,000 feet up in Mendoza's best subregion. It's 70% Malbec and 30% Cabernet Franc, organically farmed and hand-picked, from a family that's built Mendoza's modern reputation since the 1950s. Velvety and elegant, priced like a house wine but drinking like something that costs twice as much. Sunday dinner red that doesn't apologize for itself.

Plum, cherry, spice and vanilla on the nose, with blueberry and violet lift from the Cabernet Franc. Dark fruit and black cherry on the palate, fine-grained tannins, peppery lift, a fresh, velvety finish.
