Shifflett Ranch & Vineyard sits at the end of Darms Lane in Napa, a 52-acre family spread the Shifflett family has worked since 1942 and only started bottling under their own name in 2017. Five siblings run the place now, growing all five Bordeaux reds plus Sauvignon Blanc. Their Proprietary Red blends Merlot and Cabernet Franc from estate fruit, deep ruby, dense, and built for the cellar. Total production runs under 400 cases a year across three wines, so grab it while it's here.

Deep ruby and opaque. Blackberry, dark plum, and boysenberry up front, layered with dark chocolate, graham cracker, and a chalky, mineral edge. Medium acid, tannins rounded and polished, finish long and gravelly.

Patriarch Wade Shifflett Sr. bought the property from the Darms family in 1942; his son planted the first vines in 1982.
