Stonestreet's 2013 Estate Cabernet is 98% Cabernet Sauvignon from the winery's high-elevation Alexander Valley estate, aged 18 months in 37% new French oak. Mountain fruit keeps it fresh, and it carries the stony signature the estate is known for. Robert Parker, Decanter and Wine Enthusiast all landed at 90 points. At thirteen years old it has settled into itself. The bottle for the Napa drinker ready to see what Sonoma mountains can do.
Black cherry, satsuma plum and blood orange with bay leaf, fresh tobacco and cocoa nib. Full-bodied and generously textured, with ripe, chalky tannins and a stony, savory finish of black pepper and dried herb.
Herb-crusted rack of lamb or a mushroom-heavy braise. Age has made it friendly to earthier plates.
