Summum - Pinot Noir - Evening Land Vineyatds 2022

Summum sits at the top of the Evening Land pyramid, the flagship Pinot from Seven Springs Vineyard in Oregon's Eola-Amity Hills. Sommelier Rajat Parr and winemaker Sashi Moorman run this estate, farming own-rooted vines biodynamically in volcanic Jory soil. The 2022 fermented with 30 to 40 percent whole clusters and aged in 60 percent new French oak. Critics lined up with show-stopping scores for the 2022s. Grand cru ambition from Oregon at half the Burgundy tariff.

Peppery florals, dusty lavender and crushed wild berries. Tart red fruit, blood orange and turned earth. Racy and cooling, with fine tannins that grip toward the close. Built for fifteen years.
