Three Saints Winery - Pinot Noir - 2020

$27.99

Three Saints is Jim and Mary Dierberg's Santa Barbara County project, named for Maria, Rita and Ynez, the saints hiding in the names of the county's three great AVAs: Santa Maria Valley, Santa Rita Hills and Santa Ynez Valley. The Dierbergs have farmed since 1974, when they bought Missouri's historic Hermannhof winery, and built this label's sourcing around all three regions. This Pinot Noir is meant for right now: no cellar required, just open it and drink. Good everyday glass for a Tuesday dinner or a bigger table.

Cola, leather and earthy mushroom on the nose, with a surprising bloom of red fruit and cherry pie on the palate. Classic meets funky, approachable now, not built to age.

Classic matches for Pinot Noir: Salmon, roast duck, mushroom risotto, a charcuterie board that means business.

Jim and Mary Dierberg founded Three Saints in 1996, drawing fruit from their own vineyards across Santa Maria Valley, Sta. Rita Hills and Santa Ynez Valley, hence the name. The family has owned Missouri's Hermannhof winery, one of America's oldest, since 1974.
