Morgan Lee makes Two Vintners in Woodinville and says he wants wines that make people think. What you will think here is exactly what the label promises: that's a legit Cab. The 2022 is 75% Cabernet Sauvignon from six Columbia Valley vineyards, Pepper Bridge, Dineen and Stone Tree among them, filled out with Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petite Sirah and Petit Verdot and raised in 60% new oak. It drinks like Yountville Napa at a Washington price. 92 points says we are not exaggerating.
Cassis, blackcurrant and black tea with milk chocolate and oak spice. Plush, fleshy mid-palate, smooth polished tannins, and a juicy freshness on the finish that makes it dangerously easy to drink.
Burgers, grilled lamb, ribeye with blue cheese butter.
Morgan Lee, who also makes Covington Cellars in Woodinville, pulls Legit from Pepper Bridge, Dineen, Discovery, Stone Tree, Yellowjacket and Pollard vineyards across the Columbia Valley, blending five varieties and aging in 60% new oak.
