Embruix is the entry into Celler Vall Llach, the estate based in Porrera, one of Priorat's historic villages, in Catalonia, Spain. The 2022 blends 28% Merlot, 27% Garnacha, 21% Carinena, 12% Syrah and 12% Cabernet Sauvignon. Full throttle at 15% alcohol but genuinely balanced, with low pH, very fine tannins and a velvety feel. Wine Advocate, Vinous and Suckling all landed on 91 points. Dark, mineral, serious red for braised short rib weather.
Ruby with a violet edge. Raspberry and blackberry, licorice, graphite, spice and fragrant herbs over a dark mineral base. Velvety mouthfeel, integrated oak, cocoa and balsamic notes on the finish.
Braised short ribs, lamb shoulder, grilled chorizo, hard sheep's milk cheese.
