Valtravieso built its name in Ribera del Duero, but this bottle is the winery's rescue mission. Viñedos Olvidados means forgotten vineyards, and Cerro Cerezo saves one: the Los Lirios parcel near Covarrubias in D.O. Arlanza, old vines at roughly 1,000 meters on fine sands and rolled stone. Mostly Tempranillo, with scraps of old-vine Mencía, Monastrell, Bobal and Garnacha, then at least 20 months in French oak. A tiny single-parcel Spanish red for the drinker who thinks they have tried everything.

Pale for a Spanish red and deceptively powerful. Fine, precise structure with real depth. Floral aromatics over stony minerality, vibrant tannin, and a finish that refuses to quit.

Classic matches for a red like this: Grilled and roasted meats, hearty pastas, aged cheeses.

Valtravieso farms high, rocky sites in Ribera del Duero, and its Viñedos Olvidados project rescues abandoned old-vine parcels across Arlanza, Jumilla and Ribera del Júcar. Cerro Cerezo comes from the Los Lirios site on the left bank of the Arlanza river beside the Sierra de las Mamblas, fine sands with pebbles over a silty clay bed.
