Kirk Venge is second-generation Napa winemaking royalty, and Family Reserve is his flagship. Oakville Estate fruit joined by Beckstoffer Missouri Hopper, fermented on native yeasts, aged 27 months in 100% new French oak and bottled unfiltered. Wine Enthusiast gave the 2018 a 96 and called it sultry, silky and sophisticated. We agree. Creme de cassis, baked plum and violets ride on ultra-fine tannins. This is the big-night bottle. It will also cellar happily for fifteen years.

Creme de cassis, baked plum and Black Forest cake with candied violets, clove and cedar. Full-bodied and concentrated, seamless texture, ultra-fine tannins, a sweet core of fruit and a very long finish.

Classic matches for Cabernet Sauvignon: Ribeye off the grill, lamb chops, aged cheddar, a rainy night and a good movie.

Sourced from Venge's own Oakville Estate plus Beckstoffer Missouri Hopper. Native yeast and malolactic fermentations, 27 months in 100% new tight-grained French oak from cooperages including Taransaud and Sylvain, bottled unfiltered.
