Champagne Jacques Copin Blanc de Noir brut Tradition 750ml

Jacques Copin is a small grower Champagne house in Verneuil, in the Marne Valley, founded in 1963 by Jacques and Anne-Marie Copin on vineyards the family has farmed since 1903; Bruno and Marielle Copin run it today. This Blanc de Noirs Tradition is built almost entirely from Pinot Meunier, the grape that dominates the Marne Valley, with a splash of Pinot Noir and reserve wine for depth. Real grower Champagne character at a price that undercuts the big negociant names. Good bottle for a weeknight pop.

Bright pale gold with a lively, fine mousse. Apple, pear, citrus, fresh almond and white flowers on the nose. Medium weight, a touch of toast and vanilla, creamy texture, finishing fresh with peach and toasted almond.

Classic matches for Champagne: Oysters, fried chicken, potato chips, celebration in any form.

The Copin family has farmed vines in Vandieres since 1903; Jacques and Anne-Marie Copin founded the estate label in 1963, and their son Bruno and his wife Marielle now run the roughly 10-hectare domaine in Verneuil, in the Marne Valley, with vines ranging from 10 to 60 years old.
