Jean-Claude Raffaitin and his son Antoine farm 25 acres around the hamlet of Amigny, split between the chalky terres blanches near Bue and the flinty caillottes soils near Verdigny -- the two classic Sancerre terroirs. The family has worked the land their own way since the 1950s, a small, unshowy domaine rather than a negociant label. This 2023 is 100% Sauvignon Blanc, textbook Sancerre: bright, mineral, built for oysters and goat cheese. A reliable pour for anyone who wants real Loire character without reaching for a big negociant name.

White flowers and orange blossom on the nose, with a touch of exotic fruit and stone fruit. Crisp, fresh and citrusy through the finish, with blackcurrant leaf and elderflower underneath.
