Henriot Blanc de Blancs 750ml
$115.00
Henriot has been a Chardonnay house since 1808, and this bottle is the argument. It is 100% Chardonnay from premier and grand cru villages, the Côte des Blancs core stretched out to Sézanne, Vitryat and Montgueux, with 30 to 50 percent reserve wines pulled from the house's perpetual reserve. Years on the lees round the edges without blurring them. Citrus and chalk up front, cream underneath. The bottle to keep cold for good news.
Lemon, green apple and white peach over chalk, with a light toasty, hazelnut note. Fine mousse, taut and precise through the middle, creamy edge from lees aging, clean saline finish.
Oysters, fresh goat cheese, lemony roast chicken, or fried anything.
Founded in Reims in 1808 and long defined by its Chardonnay sources. This cuvée pulls from twelve crus across the region's key Chardonnay zones, from the Côte des Blancs to Trépail, Sézanne, Vitryat and Montgueux, deepened by the house's perpetual reserve of older wines.
